In 2026, BELvue will embark on a thorough transformation, which will result in a completely renewed museum by 2028.
Here, we offer a look behind the scenes of the museum’s transformation: our “museomorphosis.”
The permanent exhibition as you know it today will be completely redone. The “history of Belgium” will remain the main theme, but both the format and the content will be completely reworked.
In addition, the program will feature captivating annual exhibitions on historical and social themes that address today’s major issues.
An ambitious renovation of our historic building will also begin soon. We want the former “Hotel de Belle-vue,” which carries more than two centuries of history, to welcome visitors in a pleasant way and meet the challenges of our time. A series of improvements will make the building more energy-efficient and better equipped to withstand climate change. The historic entrance on the Royal Place side will be redesigned, creating a passageway between the Brussels Park and the Mont des Arts.

We want to embark on this journey together with our visitors and all our partners.
You can take the survey until September 30 and share what matters most to you.
Together, we’ll shape the museum of tomorrow!
